The Change Pogradec / Review

The Change is a lakeside restaurant which, as the name suggests, has brought innovation to Pogradec, offering out-of-the-box options for locals, such as: sushi, aged meats, Italian pastries etc. This thing requires courage, so I hurried to try it out of curiosity, based on your suggestions.

On the way back from Thessaloniki, we decided to have lunch here. The menu clearly indicated the orientation from Greek cuisine, both in terms of the names (pronounced somewhat amateurishly), as well as in terms of the ingredients of some dishes.

On the other hand, dishes like sushi apo Tomahawk, tended to target mainly the clientele from Tirana.

🤵🏼Service: correct and fast. Water was served to us free of charge

Regarding food: I love Pogradec and I want to be careful about his every business, but on the other hand I have to be true:

change pogradec sushi

(I.e. Sushi: as you can see in the photo, the maki rice was so mushy that the chopsticks could barely hold them. There was an excess of sauces and among the four of us, we were served only one cup almost filled with soy sauce 😅

change pogradec tomahawk

🥩 Tomahawk: I really wish I could write more words but no, the one we consumed did not have the smoothness of a tomahawk. We asked for the meatmedium rare' and as much as I appreciate the spectacle provided by cooking the meat in front of the customer, that spectacle overcooked the meat. The onions, tomatoes and oregano served on top of the Tomahawk made me lose track of what I was consuming...

The dishes of the Greek cuisine were close to the original recipes, besides, if I personally wanted Greek food (the word falls, because I don't care 😅), then the neighbors are right next door.

A suggestion of mine, would be to offer i traditional cuisine with modern techniques and combination, including area components. Or, if we dare with foreign cuisines, why not try sushi or tartar koran? 😉

Prices are similar very good and with a little more expertise, the restaurant will surely succeed 😊
