    Hey everyone,

I recently installed AetherSX2 on my Android phone to play some PS2 classics, but I’m struggling to get consistent performance. Some games run fine, while others suffer from frame drops, audio crackling, and occasional graphical glitches. My phone has a mid-range Snapdragon chip with 6GB RAM.

Could anyone share their recommended settings for renderer, resolution, and speed hacks? Also, which BIOS version works best, and are there any known compatibility issues I should watch out for? Since development stopped on the app, are there any good forks or alternatives worth trying?

Thanks in advance for your help!

For a mid-range Snapdragon phone with 6GB RAM, I’d recommend starting with Vulkan, 1x native resolution, and default speed-hack settings when using aethersx2 for ps2 on android. Switch to OpenGL if you experience graphical glitches, and avoid aggressive hacks because they can cause compatibility issues.

Use a legitimate PS2 BIOS dumped from your own console. For an alternative, consider NetherSX2, a community patch project based on AetherSX2.

Keep in mind that performance varies by game, and audio crackling usually indicates that emulation is struggling to maintain full speed.
