Hi everyone,
I’m currently renovating my master bathroom and planning to install a large frameless shower enclosure. My contractor mentioned tempered glass, but I’ve also heard about laminated glass as a safer alternative.
Learn more here about the differences between glass types before making your final decision.
My enclosure will be roughly 84 inches tall with a fixed panel and a pivot door. I’m concerned about both safety and clarity over time.
Should I go with 3/8-inch or 1/2-inch tempered glass? Is laminated worth the extra cost for a residential bathroom?
Any advice from professionals or homeowners who’ve done this would be really appreciated. Thanks!
