Founders who are building decentralized crypto exchanges are focused on fixing MEV because it affects trust, pricing, and user retention.
MEV happens when bots see a trade and jump ahead to earn profit, often giving users a worse price.
To handle this, DEX founders are doing a few simple things:
- Hide trades: keep transactions private so bots can’t react early
- Group trades: process multiple trades together to avoid the “first-come, first-served” advantage
- Smarter execution: users give an outcome (best price), and the system finds the best route
- Spread liquidity: use multiple pools so no single pool can be exploited
