    Appropriate data warehouse data structures are dependent on the use of the data. Typically, a fact table will house a measurable business event, and a dimension table will contain descriptive information like the customer, product or date. A star schema may facilitate reporting, whereas other more normalized schemas may be more appropriate in other operational or complicated situations.
