    Hi everyone,

    our open-pit loading shovel suffered a sudden power drop on the main crawler drive during yesterday’s heavy rock haul. The operator reported a harsh burning oil smell right after a metallic clunk echoed through the chassis under full incline torque.

    When we pulled the side maintenance cover, we found heavy carbon sludge along with dark metal flaking inside the housing.

    The site supervisor suspects continuous overload caused the internal wet clutch plates to slip and overheat. Has anyone dealt with thermal clutch slippage on a heavy-duty Cotta gearbox? We need advice on rebuilding or replacing it.
